Community
We love our community! There’s nothing better than spending time on the south shore of Lake Superior where opportunities are everywhere to get outside and explore. Here’s a few of our favorite places to spend an afternoon or a day of winter fun!

Mt. Ashwabay Ski & Recreation Area has great alpine and snowboard terrain and a network of nordic trails. The Jerry Jolly Cross-Country trail system covers 40 km of classic and skate trails with ratings from beginner to expert. A great little community ski hill just a short drive from Ashland.
Morgan Falls and St. Peter's Dome is a great little climb to a spectacular vista!
Affectionately deemed the "postage stamp" the Ashland cross country ski trail located next to Memorial Medical Center is a convenient place to get a quick ski in after work.
A hike above the Apostle Island Sea Caves is well worth the drive over to Meyers Beach east of Cornucopia to view Lake Superior from above; launch a kayak or in winter check the ice conditions and hike out to the caves. Need a post hike snack, head to Halvorson's Fish Market for some super tasty smoked fish.
Souix Beach located on Friendly Valley Road off of Highway 13 north of Washburn, WI is our favorite place to throw a frisbee and chill out on a warm summer day.Check out the wave and wind conditions in the Apostle Islands before heading out Seacaves Watch
